Overall, 'Pati Patni Aur Woh' is a fun movie about the common people. The only song that should have better been left out is the 'Tere Naam Tere Naam' track. If there is someone who loves someone else, but doesn’t have the courage to take the next step, the ‘angel ring’ floating around. The songs aren't classics but the funny lyrics had me giggling. Who wouldn't fall in love with her? She remains one of the most underrated actresses. Ranjeeta Kaur is spellbinding as the other woman. Vidya Sinha too is great as the strong-minded loving wife.
As sleazy and a bit of a scum that Ranjit is, there's something likable about the fellow.
Being among the most versatile actors, comedy comes natural to Sanjeev Kumar and he is terrific. All three principle characters are very well defined and easy to relate to. Then there's the beautiful Nirmala who although modern, feels that she is forced by circumstances to work in order to provide for her family. Ranjeet and Sharda have had a love marriage and both are happy except that Ranjeet is not fully satisfied and he tries to woo every other unmarried hot chick that comes his way (unbeknownst to his wife). The formula of a love triangle between a husband, his wife and the other woman has often been repeated in Hindi cinema especially in the more recent times and, in addition to its cheeky sense of humour, what stands out in 'Pati Patni Aur Woh' are the characters and their interactions. Chopra addresses these issues but with a good dose of humour. As the title suggest, it tackles themes like monogamy, infidelity and betrayal. but hold it! Not for long! - rAjOo Chopra's hilarious 'Pati Patni Aur Woh' is a laugh riot from start to end. Watch how hilarious events unfold and prove that Ranjeet is a liar and a two-timer, watch him repent. What Sharda does not know that Ranjeet is carrying on with his pretty Secretary, Nirmala Deshpande, who he has convinced that his wife is seriously ill, is dying, and will marry her after her passing. Then one day Sharda sees signs of a lipstick on her husband's kerchief, when she questions, he clarifies and Sharda is satisfied with his explanation. Both live in perfect harmony and soon become parents of a baby boy. Both meet, fall in love, and get married. Now Adam is called Ranjeet Chaddha, a Sales Manager, and Eve is called Sharda. They are forced to live on Earth as ordinary human beings - together with the apple that has followed them. Nature takes offense and expels them from heaven. One day they cannot resist the temptation, and both take a bite out of it. Adam & Eve live a worry-free life in paradise.
